3 Things I Have to Do Before a Road Trip
So first: I’m super excited to be leaving for a road trip soon! Johnny and I are heading to Concord, Mass. – somewhere I’ve always wanted to go for adventures.
It’s a hotbed of environmental philosophy, literature, and revolutionary American history (think Louisa May Alcott, Thoreau, Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and the shot heard ’round the world). I can’t wait to totally nerd out everywhere.
Okay, so three things I absolutely must do before a road trip? Tell me you have to do these things, too…
1) Clean my car. We’re talking inside AND out. I don’t care how cold or rainy it is, this needs to be done. There’s something awesome about loading a perfectly clean car with road trip supplies.
2) Clean out my purse/wallet. Okay, okay. So I’m totally guilty of stuffing receipts, grocery lists, and tons of coins into the infinite abyss that is my purse. I won’t even tell you some of the things I found. But that doesn’t matter now because it’s clean!
3) Load up on healthy road/travel snacks. Even though I almost never eat all of these things, I can’t help but load up on road trip snacks.
My favorites for this trip? Coconut and coffee-flavored almonds. Um, hello where have you been all my life? I first discovered these in my Healthy Living Summit swag back this past September. I was super psyched to find them at the store.
What do you have to do before a road trip? My mom always insisted we clean the house top to bottom.
Yup. I’m with your mom. I like leaving the house splinter clean! In fact, I like to be the last one to go out the back door – to wipe up any random bits of dirt that might’ve dropped off of someone. 🙂 Never thought of cleaning the other things…. Have a great trip!
