Virtual 5K Race #Blend5K
Dreamed up by Heather and Laura (and Kelly?), The Blend 5K is a practice race for anyone and everyone who wants to run a race/get ready for a race and wants the encouragement and accountability of running with a buddy. More details about the race can be found here, on Laura’s blog! (anyone who wants to follow along can blog about it and add #Blend5K to tweets!)
I’m planning to race either Saturday or Sunday–I haven’t decided which. My spring race training schedule has been built to allow for such flexibility!
I think this virtual race is a great idea. I love running with a buddy, and this allows me to do just that, but also gear up for a solo run. I have two thoughts: I might run my usual 5K route, or I might take a trip to the location of next weekend’s race to try it out!
Usually, my weekend run is the “long run” of the week, but this virtual race for May 5/6 is the perfect practice! I’m not-so-secretly hoping to PR at the May 12 race. My best recorded time for a 5K is 27:10 (from last October’s Queen of the Roses 5K in Chestertown), and I’m feeling confident that I can run faster than that now!

HOORAY! So excited to see you are joining us for #blend5K!!! 🙂 xoxo
It’s a great idea! I’ll post my “results” too 🙂
