Dance with the Stars 2015

I’m so excited to announce that once again, I’ll be lacing up my dancing shoes to benefit the local Horizons Program in Kent County!

My partner is Dan Divilio, editor of the Kent County News and STAR of our team!

The event will be January 24, 2015, at the Kent County Community Center in Worton, MD. We’ll be joined by 10 other couples, and each couple takes the dance floor for 2 minutes to encourage votes! One vote = $1. The couple with the most votes will win! There’s also the chance to be the judge’s pick, but People’s Choice is more coveted.

Where does the money go? The Horizons Program! This awesome program benefits underprivileged youths in Kent County (soon Queen Anne’s County, too!). The kids get summertime help with academic support, citizenship skills, self confidence, and enrichment program. It’s especially awesome because these programs come during the summer gap–the time between school years when academic support typically falls. Kids should have the opportunity to learn and engage with others in interactive environments all year round!

As we continue to practice, I’ll upload videos so you can follow along with our progress. If you attend fitness classes with me, you’ll have the chance to see the PREMIERE of our dance in January, just before the Dance with the Stars event. More information coming soon!
