Asking the Bridesmaids
Another Wedding update!
Thanks to Angela, I update my countdown board DAILY now. 225 seems like a monumental countdown moment.
Now…onto asking the bridesmaids to join the wedding party!
When I started to think about the vibe of our wedding – classic, somewhat traditional, fairly small guest list, practical but elegant, I knew I wanted to keep our wedding party on the more intimate side.
This piece of wedding planning had me all sorts of nervous. Like, I was sort of sick to my stomach the whole day before asking my two lovely bridesmaids to join our wedding party.
I think being invited to be part of a wedding party is a huge task – I was sure they’d both say yes, but it’s still a lot to ask someone.
But I had a plan (I like plans!): I invited both of them to have sushi one Friday evening, and I wanted to offer a cute way to ask them to be in the wedding. About a month or so before our sushi dinner, I came up with this fun idea:
A handmade bracelet all tied up with a pretty bow (within the blue color palette I want for the wedding).
I adore circles, and these butterfly toggle clasps I found were just too sweet.
I made three of these bracelets, mostly so I could test drive one. I used leather cord and leather cord end caps to attach the cords to the clasps.
This was such a fun wedding project and I’m SO GLAD to have finally asked my two bridesmaids to join the party. Can’t wait for so many more wedding adventures.
So excited, happy, proud, delighted, thrilled, ecstatic, fluorescent (I can totally use this word) to be a part of this awesome wedding adventure!! EEEEEEEEE
weeeeee! Fluorescent is a good word.
Those bracelets are beautiful!
Thank you!
