Fitness Friday #24: Zumbathon for The Butterfly Nest
I had the opportunity to join a local volunteer initiative group, The Butterfly Nest, for a Zumbathon event in Chestertown.
I LOVE helping host (and hosting) Zumbathons. Think about a regular Zumba class – heart-pumpin’ booty shakin’, adrenaline-crazy goodness. Right? Multiply that by 1,000 and you have a Zumbathon.
Zumbathon events usually last longer than a typical class. I’ve hosted 3 hour-long events. This one was 2 hours. Thankfully, two of my local Zumba instructor friends came to help me teach songs (much love to Gloria and Teddi).
Participants got to take a special #TBN (The Butterfly Nest) tumbler home with them.
We watched the weather in anticipation all week since we decided to host an outdoor event at Wilmer Park in Chestertown. Much to all of our surprise, the sun started shining just before the start of the event.
A fun instructor shot! This is how we hug good-bye when we’re super hot and sweaty.
I had such a blast. What a great group – coming out on a Friday night to help raise money for a local volunteer initiative. Can’t wait for the next fun event!
