Welcome to the weekly chat where I spill my guts and try not to spill my coffee. That would be very sad.

It’s never too cold for iced coffee. NEVER.

If we were having coffee today, I’d tell you that we had a lovely trip to Charlotte this past weekend. Friends moved there this summer, and we wanted to pay them a visit and celebrate their recent engagement (YAY!). While in Charlotte, we had delish food at The Cowfish and Cabo Fish Taco and we even got in a 6-mile hike at Crowders Mountain State Park!

If we were having coffee today, I’d tell you to keep your chin up. You’ve got this (whatever it is)! Hug a loved one today and be grateful for what you have at this moment.

It goes beyond fitness. When is the last time you truly took a rest day? No laundry, no email-checking, no office time, just a break to spend time with yourself, your thoughts, and your family? The article shares tips for making time to rest — embrace simplicity, PLAN your rest day (that one makes me giddy, I just love plans), and my favorite one – take responsibility for your life.

HOW many times have you caught yourself complaining (be honest) that you can’t take a day off because so-and-so or such-and-such NEEDS you to work? Or, how many times have you played a victim to being busy? I know I am guilty of both of these! The article encourages taking responsibility for YOU and your time. Only YOU can do this. No one else will be watching out for your time. In fact, people are likely to take advantage if you always give, give, give and don’t take breaks. I really love this article.
