Happy Tuesday! Let’s grab coffee and have a chat.

If we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that the countdown to Disney is ON! I’m so excited to experience the magic for the first time. We have our tickets, and we’re super ready for the fun! Bring it on.

If we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that I also just made our final deposit for our holiday cruise! I’m stoked to go to Cuba – it’s been on my bucket list since college, and I’m excited to experience it now. So many trips and activities!

If we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that I’m packing October and November with ALL THE CLASSES. I’ve just added a bunch of additional opportunities (#noexcuses) and tried to keep a balance of all the formats that I teach. Can you believe that I teach EIGHT different types of classes?! My two newest classes, Barre and Buti, are going so well. Haven’t joined me for either of these classes yet? I teach Barre on Thursdays and Buti on Wednesdays. I have some special opportunities coming up on Friday and Saturday – I love teaching these classes and so want to share them with you! Check out the full schedule for October.

Speaking of fitness, if we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that we’re on Day 2 of the Fall into Push-ups Challenge. What is it? I want everyone to work on building a better push-up, so this challenge is all about FORM. I’ve posted a form video on the facebook page, and will continue to post the day’s challenge each day on facebook and instagram. I love hosting challenges, and hope you will join me!

If we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that I’m having a c-r-a-z-y week already, but wanted to pause and talk about something super important to me. My word challenge of the year has been “assertive.” By this, I mean being a strong advocate for myself. I’ve become more easy-going in my 30s (I used to be worse), and with that I’ve been struggling with being perceived as a push-over. I don’t do confrontation (but if I do, I go 100%), so it’s easy to assume that I’ll just be ok with whatever. For the most part, I’m able to keep to myself and this works just fine. However, sometimes this presents a problem.

Here’s my tip to anyone struggling with this same issue: you are the only person in the world who will consistently look out for you. No one else will! You have to be the BEST advocate for yourself. You are responsible for your time, and if given the opportunity, people will take advantage of it. I’m learning to set boundaries when it comes to projects (even going so far as to say “I’m not working today” which initially comes off as harsh, but at the end of the day, it means that I will not work that day and people won’t send me their “urgent” items).

I’m constantly evolving and growing and learning – and I love that! Setting boundaries for time is part of this. I’ve said no to many more things this year, conscious of the fact that I work 2-4 jobs at any given time (contract work) and sometimes just need a break. And that’s ok! People may flow into and out of your life, but if you’re protecting your sanity and health, at the end of the day, it’s okay. You are responsible for you and your own time. Remember that! If nothing else, I’m happy to share what I’m learning with you – that’s one of my favorite things about this space – we get to learn together!

If we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that, in light of what I’m learning, I schedule many more “me” days! I have one coming up, and I can’t wait to get my fitness on, have a little pampering, and enjoy delicious food. I’m loving my treat days!

Have a fabulous week, get some push-ups done, and see you in class if you’re local!
