Coffee Talk Tuesday #106
It’s Tuesday! Grab your cup of something special and let’s chat.
If we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that husband and I were at Disney and Universal last week! I have never been, even though I’ve been to Orlando. Husband was there to present at a conference, and I joined him at the tail end so I could see Disney and experience Universal. It was so cool to see the Harry Potter areas in person – I loved entering all the shops in Diagon Alley, seeing Hogsmeade, and trying pumpkin juice and a pumpkin pasty. I don’t ride rides, so husband took advantage of those with his colleague, while I busied myself checking out all of the small details. I loved it! We also went to Epcot, which I think was my favorite park of the 4 we visited. I loved stepping into each country and since it was the Food & Wine Festival, they had extra booths set-up. We got korma in India, bubble tea in China, waffles in Belgium, and more. So delish! I even rode the ride in the Epcot ball. We finished our trip with a visit to Magic Kingdom. I loved seeing the Castle, and going on the super chill Haunted House and Little Mermaid rides. We also visited It’s a Small World and rode the train around the park. My one complaint about Magic Kingdom is the serious lack of GOOD food. There were fried things and ice cream available everywhere, but Epcot is the place to go for food, for sure. We luckily found a place to get tacos which was the only quick healthy-ish place to eat. All in all, a successful trip!! Ready for our next adventure to CUBA!
If we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that we’re nearing the middle of a jam-packed week of classes. I’m teaching extra classes – filling in for a Buti class, teaching a Beginner Buti class (PLEASE come, this will be such a good intro to Buti and a chance to learn the spiral technique, chakra opening, and abdominal activation), and a Glow Zumba class this Friday. So many things! I’m excited to be able to teach so many formats, but it definitely makes my head spin some weeks – especially when I introduce new choreo, techniques, and combos.
If we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that 98% of my job with 8-10 graders is awesome, delivering good news about options, and helping them make plans to stay on track. Sometimes, there are tough conversations with students, unexpected, and they offer a lot of perspective. I feel for the situations some of these students face every day, and I’m so lucky to have a pretty cushy life. Sometimes, all they need is someone to listen, and I’m glad I can be in a position to be that person.
If we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that we have another FREE workout in Baltimore this weekend! Join the BBG group for a super fly workout (I just created and tested it – whoosh!). The fun starts at 9:00 a.m. at the Under Armour Turf. Register here.
If we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that I’m all about this crisp fall weather! I love boots and scarfs and cardigans and the chill in the air. It’s my favorite time of the year!
If we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that I’m loving this new format I’m trying in PiYo Classes – each week has a new posture to try. I teach different variations and levels of each pose, so that every participant can find a way to connect to the posture. We’ve played with dancer, compass, hand to big toe, and more. Check out the videos here, under the “PiYo Play Poses” list. At the end of class, when we’re warmed up from the leg work, the power flows, and core activation, we finish with play time. I love teaching these movements!
It’s a busy week! I’ll see you for coffee next time.
