Apple chips

I love exploring new possibilities with yummy fall treats. Like…apple chips!

Sweet, crunchy, light, fantastic homemade baked apple chips!

I started with a mix of fuji, cameo, and granny smith apples,

which I washed and sliced very thin.

As thin as I could make them!

All slices went immediately into a bowl of ice water (prevents browning).

Lots of apple slices! I sliced 4 apples.

Pre-heat the oven to the lowest setting (170 degrees for me) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

One by one, dry the apple slices and line them up on the baking sheet.

For extra flavor, I mixed 3 tbsp. sugar with 1/2 tbsp. cinnamon

Sprinkle the mix on the apples.

(and try not to eat them before you bake them)

Pop them in the oven for roughly 2 hours. Trust me, it’s worth it!

You’ll know they’re ready when the edges curl, and the slices are crunchy to the touch.

When making these, I learned that pieces from smaller apples will crisp faster.
