Choose Your Craft Night
A few of the ladies in my fitness classes have been talking about this idea for ages.
Here’s the plan: get everyone together for a night, have yummy food, drink wine, make crafts. After a long time of talking about it, I set a date and invited all crafters and wannabe-crafters.
The result? An explosion of Pinterest in my living and dining rooms.
Everyone brought a different project – either something they’ve been working on for awhile, something they’ve been meaning to work on, or something new entirely. We even had a couple of demos in sewing and ring wrapping!
It’s not a serious craft party until someone breaks out the sewing machines.
More than anything, I loved walking around to the different groups and seeing what everyone brought to craft. I discovered that I’m surrounded by some creative people!
I’ve been working on this epic paint-by-number Eiffel Tower piece for Pompadour Place for a couple of weeks now. It was difficult to work on during the party, because it requires more concentration and anti-socialness, but I still managed to complete a couple of the colors!
One of the best parts was the food. I love choosing, prepping, and offering delicious food for parties. I made my stand-by hummus, served with vegetables, Johnny made these spinach patties, and I also had some crackers, cheese, nuts, and fresh fruit.
Others brought tortilla chips and dip, these addicting spinach artichoke bites, and tons of great desserts – black bean brownies, oatmeal raisin cookies, pineapple cakes, and date balls.
I loved sharing one of my favorite crafts – ring wrapping. I’m a little obsessed – I think I have 50 or 60 rings for myself.
Probably my favorite photo of the night: these three made wreaths for their front doors. Love the craft and LOVE the silly picture!
Another front door wreath – with some serious burlap wrapping, handmade roses, and I think a glue gun made a cameo at one point.
Such a fun event! It’s a great way to bring a group of people together, relax on a Friday night, and leave with something completed. I can’t wait for the next one.
