Coffee Talk #183: For the Love of Fitness
It’s Tuesday! Grab your cup and let’s start chattin’.
If we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that we’re into week 10 of the quarantine over here, and I’m getting ready to teach another fitness class. Surprise!
I’ve been offering about 20 different fitness classes each week since the lockdown started. I know, 20 is a LOT. We even moved houses during the quarantine, and I just became temporarily full time for my job with MBRT, to work on special projects.
If we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that I don’t know how else I’d be thriving during this quarantine, were it not for all the fitness classes. I started with my typical 8-10 per week and it’s just grown from there.
If we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that I got to have an IRL coffee chat with a dear friend. She brought her own coffee and chair and we sat 6+ feet apart on my front porch. It was everything. I highly recommend interactions like this – especially with people who can be real and raw with you while also being willing to let you speak YOUR truth. I am lucky to have a friend like this!
While we were chatting from a distance, she reminded me that I truly love fitness. That might sound silly – but here’s what I mean. I’ve been really struggling with offering so much free content, because teaching is my job! I’ve been told by fellow fitness instructors not to ‘give it away’ and to charge what I’m worth. Enter: crazy inner struggle between offering my fitness services and charging what I’m worth. I spend a LOT of time designing effective workouts and a lot of time videoing them or offering them during live fitness sessions on social media. It takes a lot of time and a lot of energy. Why am I giving this away?
Because it’s my soulmate career. Think about it — as my good friend reminded me — I’d do this job with or without pay. Of course, WITH pay is preferred because a girl’s gotta eat, but I truly love this job.
I love my ability to craft the perfect workout, find the best music to pair it with, and share it with you. Each week, I’m teaching 9-10 DIFFERENT workout styles, because I believe one style is good for consistency, but a variety of styles keeps you engaged, motivated, and moving. I also love teaching high and low impact varieties to help assist recovery and prevent injury.
I’m SO very grateful that many of you are logging into Zoom, joining me in the Park, contacting me to offer small private group classes, and joining me for my fitness groups – these paid programs allow me to continue to share my craft. THANK YOU!
This new chapter in fitness helps motivate me to be my very best. My goal is to provide QUALITY and FUN workouts that keep you moving and help you build confidence. I believe in consistency, I believe in listening to your body, and I believe in YOU.
I love constantly working to better myself professionally – I take workshops, new certification courses, and I’m always looking forward to the next thing I can learn and share with you. This brings me joy. This brings me life. This is my CALLING.

I’m already cooking up my next virtual group — these groups give me JOY. I love having a strong group sharing their ups and downs, joining for live workouts, motivating each other, and being REAL.

- Zoom Classes – Almost a class a day – Zumba, HIGH Fitness, Buti, Combo classes, Turbo Kick – basically everything I’m contractually not allowed to offer on FB or IG.
- Private Group Classes – I love when companies and groups reach out to me to host private classes. I just booked another one yesterday!
- Videos for purchase – I have curated a small library of workouts that are available a la carte or as a whole package. Message me for details — these are all based on videos that clients wanted to have!
I absolutely LOVE this! Fitness, hands down, is YOUR calling! Your passion and energy shine brightly through your work! In the face of adversity, especially such a time like this, without skippig a beat you seamlessly adapt. I love that you offer so many different workout styles and on different platforms. It makes it easy to build into a busy work schedule. Thank you for all that you do and finding this calling!
