Coffee Talk Tuesday #36
Welcome to the weekly chat where I spill my guts and try not to spill my coffee!
If we were having coffee together this week, I’d tell you that I’m one busy bee. The next couple of weeks will be filled with lots of daily to-dos. My job, working in communications, keeps me on my toes — there’s always some form of communication to send to one of our audiences and this time of year is just extra busy. I love it — creating a to do list, and then crossing that shizz off the list. Makes me so giddy.
If we were having coffee together this week, I’d tell you that we’re at 12 days until we leave for Cali! I’m going for a conference (Converge Consulting, in case you’re a communications nerd??), and Johnny is coming with me! The conference is in Palm Springs. We’re flying to LA and I can’t wait to share some of my favorite west coast places with my love!
If we were having coffee together this week, I’d tell you that we had SUCH a blast this past Saturday at the Dance with the Stars Gala! This was my fourth year participating in this awesome fundraiser event, and possibly one of my favorite groups of dancers/dances?! We, as a group, raised more money than EVER before (in the entire span of the event). And it was sweet icing on the cake to take home the Judge’s Award for our dance! We worked so hard and I had such a fun time creating the choreography for our song “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody/All We Got.” Did you see our crazy trick at the end?! #HardWork Here’s the live version and one of our dress rehearsal versions.
If we were having coffee together this week, I’d tell you that I’m rolling right through the BBG/Bikini Body Guide workouts. I’m officially on week 5 and the workouts keep getting more challenging, which is a great thing. The resistance workouts are divided into three categories: arms/abs, legs, and full body. I usually do legs early in the week, then arms, then full body. I’ve done them three days in a row before, but I prefer to have a day in between each resistance workout. I loooove feeling sore after a workout (not every workout, it’s nice to have some rehabilitation and recovery worked into this program) and I haven’t felt this way in a long time. I’m at the point where I’m noticing changes in my body – feeling stronger, tighter, and less ‘fluffy’ and can’t wait to see where I am in the coming weeks.
If we were having coffee together this week, I’d tell you about my latest guilty pleasure. I’m a huuuuge PBS/Masterpiece fan and there was a mini-series that I got really into recently: The Secrets of the Six Wives. I love this stuff! This followed the six marriages of Henry VIII. You can watch the episodes for free on PBS! The host is probably one of my favorite hosts ever — she’s super cute and SUPER into this stuff. (Um, while you’re there, check out Victoria, my other new guilty pleasure.)
If we were having coffee together this week, I’d tell you that I’m still rockin’ through teaching 10 classes a week. How do I do it (I literally get asked this question every day)? I’m working on a fun post, but basically: PLANNING AHEAD is my best friend. I don’t know where I’d be without my bullet journal, meal prepping, and my latest trick: bringing my entire week’s worth of workout clothes to my office (I have a pretty awesome closet in my office). I just grab and go.
That’s what’s up this week! What is going on in your world?
