Coffee Talk Tuesday #70

Grab a cup! It’s time for a Coffee Talk Tuesday chat. On Tuesday. BOOM!

I’m on cup number 3 and have plans to drink even more coffee. Weeeee! This particular Tuesday is nice and cray – 4 classes today (insanity, Pound, PiYo, and Zumba + Pound), plus multiple errands, some work for my newest PT job that starts officially next week, and more. So, let’s dive in, shall we?

What’s this new PT job? I’m working with a grant-funded position through Maryland Business Roundtable for Education (MBRT) to be a program coordinator in Kent County. Cool. What’s that do? I’ll be in the middle and high school a couple of days a week to meet with 7, 8, and 9 grade students to offer support for life after HS. It’s a career/college prep style position, but starting in middle school to get students thinking about their academics and activities. I’m so excited! In addition to 1:1 and small group meetings, I’ll be helping to schedule Maryland Scholars presentations, STEM-style hands-on lessons, Saturday learning opportunities, and promoting summer bridge programs. There’s a lot of work to be done, but it’s the kind of work that makes you feel awesome and helps people! Can’t wait to get officially started. I ‘soft started’ in December, but will be fully in the program next week.

If we were having coffee today, I’d also tell you that I’ve landed a contract/admin/social media position with a local gym as well! I’m super excited to take the programming to new places and to really engage with the community. It’s the type of work I’d really like to move full-steam with in the near future.

If we were having coffee today, I’d also tell you that I’m moving like crazy with my fitness offerings. I want to think BIG and not hold back this year, so I’m expanding to virtual opportunities. Beginning next week, I’ll be hosting my first Virtual HIIT series for 6 weeks. It’s the style of working out that has brought me amazing endurance, energy, and strength. I love sharing this style workout with others! If this sounds like something you need in your life, please plan to join us: https://goo.gl/forms/RttbTzTE9xa1UDID2. We have a private accountability group where I will post three different HIIT workouts each week.

If we were having coffee today, I’d also tell you that I’m adding so many fun classes and specialty workshops. One of the advantages of being a “free floating” instructor is the ability to teach at multiple locations and work with different people! I love teaching live classes, it’s an element of my fitness job that I want to keep doing as long as I can. I’ve just signed up to teach two private group classes (these are awesome because the people already know each other and have so much fun pushing each other and giggling together), and I’m planning to teach at 5 different locations in the next month, possibly more. Check out all the latest events on facebook.

I’ve often been told that I create work for myself. Guilty. I like to be busy and moving and have so many ideas that I want to implement. But, I’ve also learned to slow down, even if it’s just for a day. I’m so excited that I can participate in family nap time on Saturdays again, for example. It’s the sweet little things that matter.

Enough about work – how are you? What’s new in your world? I’d love to hear something positive or happy that’s going on in your life. Can we make a promise to share the happy things with each other? That’s what it’s all about, after all. I’m not saying that there won’t be sad times or negativity, but the more positivity we share with each other, the more we can lift each other up and be happy! Right? Please feel free to share something happy so we can all enjoy it!
