If we were having coffee together today, I’d share that we had an amazing trip to Charlotte!  Our primary purpose for the trip was to attend a wedding, but we also decided to create a special weekend getaway. We hiked at Stone Mountain State Park, dined at two amazing restaurants – Fig Tree and Cafe Monte – got massages, and attended a local church. What a special trip! We’ve been there together once before, to visit the same couple who got married this weekend.

Oh my gosh, the wedding. This was the best wedding we’ve attended! Everything, all the details, fit the couple so well. From the awesome location (an art gallery!) to the handwritten vows (which were so touching), to the intimate feel of the wedding and spaces, the great food, the dancing and song choices – perfect. The weather was absolutely perfect, too. We love celebrating love, and this couple has a lot of love in their lives! It was awesome to see how much their families were involved, and how everything came together. We’re attending three weddings this year, and this was the perfect event to kick-off “Wedding Season.” So much love to the newlyweds!!!

If we were having coffee together today, I’d share that I spent my “Easter Monday” hosting a Kids’ Day event at our local gym. We had 7 kids between the ages of 5 and 11 participate, and spent 8 hours with them. While the day was successful, I can confidently say it’s not something I would do again. I could absolutely share a short fitness session or a craft session (my favorite part of the day!) with kids this age, but babysitting for a full day is not how I’d prefer to spend my time! I had so much anxiety about it and hardly slept the night before the event. It didn’t help that we spent all day Sunday traveling back from Charlotte, or that I had to be there super early and teach a Turbo Kick class at the end of the day. But! The coffee-can decorating and succulent planting idea was a total hit. The kids had so much creativity!

If we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that the first session of Spring into Fitness was a total success. The room was packed and we made it through all of the challenging movements. I’m having so much fun planning the different sessions. My goal is to share a new style each week, so people can get fresh moves and ideas for moving their bodies. On the always-learning instructor side, this was an excellent idea, 8 sessions to try new ideas and movements on a live audience. I’m learning while teaching, which is super refreshing as I celebrate to my 9th anniversary of teaching next month!

If we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that I’m in the mood for spring cleaning. I love to shed what I don’t need, rearrange spaces, and of course, spend more time outdoors in the garden. I’m so excited to pull my spring/summer clothes from the attic this week and rotate colors. Do you do this? Maybe I have too many clothes, but there are also lighter fabrics and certain colors I only wear in certain seasons–it just feels right this way. I also don’t like to have too many choices when it comes to picking outfits, so this helps limit what is in my closet. It also makes it feel like Christmas when I switch seasons–sometimes I don’t remember all the awesome dresses I own! This time of the year, I also try to add a few new pieces. I have my eye on two dresses from Boden, and like to skim the Chadwicks catalog when it comes each month. With all the weddings and events we have coming up, I’m totally ready to add some fun colors and statement dresses to the mix!

If we were having coffee together today, I’d tell you that I have a ton of programs and special events coming up this month! I can’t wait for the Spring Detox workshop (my favorite favorite favorite workshop class ever), and a special “Sun Solutions” vinyasa class with Kathryn Budig. I’m also joining a friend for a Zumbathon at her school, visiting an elementary school to share Zumba with their favorite songs, helping two couples with special wedding dances, and leading a kid fitness class. I love special events related to dance and fitness, so reach out if you’re crafting something and need an instructor!

It’s a crazy week, so we’ll leave it there. I hope you’re having an extra special day.
