June Goals

My absolute favorite month of the year has come and gone. But! That means that summer is approaching, and that brings all kinds of wonderfulness with it, too.

I liked the idea of setting goals last month, and want to continue the tradition for June. First, I’m taking a look at last month’s goals to see how I did and what needs to roll over into June…

May Goals, recap:
1. Blog each day (obviously) – DONE!
2. Plan and take trip (so, so close on this one) – DONE – Two trips planned in June!!
3. Finish all of my planned races (May 12, 19, 26) – DONE!
4. Pick strawberries (a birthday tradition!) – DONE!
5. Make kombucha
6. Break ground on the back deck
7. Finish the rock wall in the backyard – DONE!
8. Attend every Saturday Farmer’s Market in Chestertown – almost. I attended Easton’s market one Saturday instead. Does that count?
9. Plan at least two boat rides on the pontoon (<--- major perk of working for a college!) - DONE!
10. Develop fitness instruction goals and plan for the rest of the year – DONE!
11. Develop goals and plan for writing/blogging for the rest of the year

So…I had some lofty aspirations for one tiny little month. I like to reach big {go big or go home, right?}.

And for this month…

June Goals
1. Make kombucha
2. Develop goals and plans for writing/blogging for second half of 2012
3. Back deck. Need to brush up those project manager skills!
4. Successfully start PiYo classes in town (so excited!!!)
5. Paint bedroom
6. Paint kitchen cabinets (turquoise!!)
7. Make strawberry jam
8. Read 3 books
9. At least three kayak adventures
10. Finish both of my June races (a 10k and a 10 miler)

Not goals, but also in June…
– trip to the beach with my sister (an annual adventure!)
– TurboKick training in Philly
– photographing a wedding
– Turtle Kayak Adventure (this was Shane’s birthday gift)
– continual planting and harvesting on the homestead
– many trips to pick berries

What an exciting month ahead! I love the start of summer.

  1. Aundra, I don’t know where your turtle kayak adventure will be, but I can highly recommend Tuckahoe State park (just 45 minutes from Chestertown). There are more turtles there than you can even count and you can get fairly close to some while they are sunning themselves on dead logs that jut up from the water. Renting a kayak is $15 for two hours and they have single or double kayaks for the same price.

  2. You’re going to paint turquoise?! HOW BRAVE! That is a MUST SEE! Please post pics!!! Now, I gotta ask, what color are you painting your room?!
