Little House on Pine
This month, we’ve officially been in this house for FIVE years, since 2007. I can’t believe how quickly time has passed!
We moved into the house on August 6, 2007. Well, I was still living on campus (college senior!) at the time, but I’ve been with the house (and all of the fun house projects) since day one, so I consider August 2007 my move-in day, too.
We’ve made some serious changes to both the home and the homestead since then. In honor of our five year homeaversary, I’m going to feature parts of the little house on Pine in different posts this week. {Tomorrow’s post is on our latest mini-project – the bedroom!}
When we moved in, each room in the house was in need of some painting or repairs. We’ve come so far since then, building skills we never thought we’d learn, creating an amazing outdoor habitat in our efforts to reduce yard space and increase food/wild space, and turning this house into a home, a place of serenity and excitement.
Why the little house on Pine? When I started writing for the blog, I wanted to come up with a name for the house, instead of just calling it “the house.” Shane and I were on the way home from a movie, coming up with the craziest ideas, until we turned down Pine Street and Shane suggested the simple “the little house on Pine.” It clicked.
