Mid-Week Staycation Update
Hello from happy staycation week! I’m still teaching my fitness classes, but not paying much attention to admissionsland this week. It feels nice!
To keep myself productive and on-track, I created a wish list of 10 items to accomplish. I’m making my way through them:
1. Today, I donated two large trash bags full of clothing and shoes. My closet space continues to decrease with each move, so I’m amazed that I still had that much clothing to spare. My chest of drawers is now completely set aside for fitness clothing (4 full drawers of it, my goodness), and my closet only contains clothing items that I actually do wear.
I decided to stop holding onto a few items because I thought that I might get around to wearing them. If it doesn’t currently fit, or it’s not a special occasion dress, or I haven’t worn it all summer, it got added to the donate pile.
2. I’m getting in lots of yoga practice. It’s so freeing to have time to myself on the mat (or lately, on the grass). I’ve started working on lots of new-to-me moves. Here’s a sample:
3. I’m also working on new material for fitness classes. Stay tuned for new Insanity and PiYo material! Zumba is next. The fall fitness schedule is also shaping up, I think I have a final round winner! I’ll post my schedule soon.
4. I created a google calendar for half marathon training. When I create a training plan, I start with end in mind. In this case, I’m running a race on October 5, so I started with that date, added a buffer “taper week” (a week for less running, still working towards the goal, but no building mileage), and slowly added increasing mileage each week. The plan calls for me to start tomorrow with a soothing 2-mile run.
5. I’ve gotten a ton done for Oktoberfest, Colchester Farm CSA’s annual education fundraiser. Posters, tickets, and facebook ads have been created. Wahoo! I’ll be hanging out at First Friday in Chestertown with more information on the event!
Not on the list, I ventured to Fairfax County, VA to visit a sweet friend and also got to catch up with another sweet instructor friend for sushi!
Still to come — some more time on the water, jam/jelly making, more reading, creating a fall planting plan, and tackling the “anything goes/all the random stuffs” closet in my bedroom.
Just for Allison, here’s my reading list:
1) How to be a Woman (which I’ve started)
2) The Giver
3) A Walk in the Woods (which I’ve started)
4) A Sand County Almanac
5) The Five People You Meet in Heaven
6) The Scorch Trials (which I’ve finished)
