Scenes from a Run
Happy Friday! This time of the year, Friday doesn’t really feel like the end of the week…we’re working on yielding the class, and getting them to make a decision by May 1. So, nights and weekend work is a must!
One thing that helps me get through the busyness? Running. {especially running on gorgeous spring days!}

Yesterday, on a 5-mile run, I took my iPhone along for the ride to show you one of my favorite routes.
It’s a lot of this — open stretches of road and flat fields
combined with the perfect blend of running along the water. This is the mighty Chester River!
More open stretches. I try to wear bright-colored clothing, even in the middle of the day, when running alone since I run right on the road.

When I first started running this route, I would be ecstatic to reach this point – the 5K turnaround. My route is one of the official race routes in the area–I’ll have the chance to run it for an upcoming race in May!
Now, I pass this point each time I run. It’s amazing how quickly I’ve been able to gain mileage with training this spring.
Depending on the time I leave, I get a chance to run with/in front of/behind the Washington College crew team members!
{hi, blurry photo — this is what happens when sweaty runner fingers hold onto the camera piece on the iPhone. ha!}
I love this stretch, too–running through the historic parts of Chestertown.
I’m so happy that we’ve had a mild winter on the Eastern Shore. My entire spring race training has taken place outside–no treadmill runs for this girl!
I’m gearing up for my longest spring training run yet this weekend – 8 miles! Wish me luck.
Good luck!
