Something Blue

In celebration of 30 Days until the Wedding (what!? wasn’t it just 50?), I wanted to share a fun piece of the planning process — finding my ‘somethings’!

My something blue was the first thing I found. I didn’t plan on this happening, but I started looking at shoes back in February, before even looking at dresses, and I happened to find some rockin’ blue shoes.

Don’t even worry, Johnny has seen these! I actually ended up ordering two pairs of blue shoes, and these were his favorite of the two.

I love my blue wedding shoes! I was excited to be able to bring them with me when I tried on wedding dresses in March. The color of my shoes inspired my bridesmaid’s dresses and the rest of the decor for the wedding.

I’m a BIG fan of flat shoes, but I love that these are wedges and have a little lift in them.

I’ve worn them for an extended period of time (for my bridal photo shoot!) and can attest that they are super comfortable, too.

I’m glad to have wedges since my ceremony location includes bricks and grass, which are recipes for disaster for me…I work on an all-brick and grass campus and have lost many beloved heels (and a little pride).

 I’m away from home for the next couple of weeks, but when I get back it will be operation-get-ALL-the-wedding-things done. We’ve done a lot to prep already, but of course there are some things you can’t really do until a couple of weeks or days before the wedding.

I’ve found my something old, something new, and something blue but I am still on the lookout for my ‘something borrowed’ (in case the virtual world has any ideas on this…).
