Unwritten
At this moment, I have 12 draft posts sitting in blogger. Twelve! There’s so much I want to write about and share, so I thought I’d give myself a little extra motivation by creating a list of posts I need to finish writing in this special “unwritten” post.
1. Homestead update – we’ve been busy bees on the homestead! I have a photo and video tour in the works.
2. Bees update – this one’s on Shane to write. I might try one from my perspective, too, but Shane has been the beekeeper. He has another beekeeping session coming up in August, maybe that will inspire a new post!
3. Five Years House post – Oh yes, we’ve been living in the little house on Pine for FIVE years! Wow. We’ve created this wonderful little paradise of our own, and I want to do a reminiscing-type post with before photos. There’s so much work, love, and excitement that has happened in this house.
4. Thoughts on Vacation – A post I’ve been working on since May! heh. This is the first time in two years that I’ve taken legit vacation days from work.
5. Introduction to my new blog – I’m launching a new professional blog in (hopefully!) August. It has more of a higher ed/professional world slant, but I’m envisioning lots of talking between the two. I’m a turning point in my higher ed career, an exciting turning point, and I want to document it!
6. Canning/jamming – It’s the time of year to really start preserving! I’ve been squirreling some things away in the freezer, but July/August is my prime canning and jam-making time. I have a few fun new recipes I want to try, and I can’t wait to share them! On the agenda this weekend: watermelon jelly. Sounds fabulous, right?!
7. Ten mile race training post – I’m getting ready to run another 10 mile race in August, and there’s nothing quite like race training in the heat. I want to share more of my daily training methods (also so I can remember what it was like to run a 10 mile race in August…)
8. A post about PiYo Strength. For the past (almost) two months, I’ve been teaching this awesome fitness class. It’s really caught on – I have a great community of (mostly) women who take the classes. Since getting my license in February, I’ve noticed the increased strength in my arms, a flatter stomach, and better balance. It’s my new favorite workout!
9. 30 day abs – I’m following a new online routine called “30 day abs” and I want to do a better job of documenting the progress. I’m beyond nervous about the idea of photographing myself, so I might not share photos but I think this will be worth it, and photos might help describe it better. I already feel so much stronger in my core, thanks to PiYo Strength, and I think this challenge will push it over the edge!
10. A post or more about consumerism. I’m working toward consuming less and producing more, but find myself at a tough place. There are certain items I’m unable to give up at this time! I’ve already kicked most make-up (minus lip gloss and nail polish) out the door, use less paper products, and in general purchase less “stuff.” I want to share my reasons for wanting to consume less.
11. Two more camping/trip related posts: one about walking into the forest, and one about camp food/camp eats.
