What is Zumba?

Okay, so I’ve teased you with updates on last year’s conference, class photos and video, and my own jump-start story. But…what exactly is Zumba?

Zumba is exercise in disguise, a high-energy dance fitness workout that uses hypnotic international rhythms. Make it personal, too! Talk about why you started zumba, and how much fun you have in your classes.

For me, the energy in each class is invigorating. The days I teach class, my energy is amazing for the rest of the day…it’s like I’m walking on air. Who wouldn’t want to feel that way during the stressful work day??

Especially for this time of year, with New Year’s resolutions, I’d include something about jump-starting your fitness goals for 2011. It’s a really good class to start with, if you’re looking to increase cardio (even if it’s an increase from nothing). You can go at your own pace, and take breaks if you need to (though you won’t want to). Because of the different beats and fun dances, class will go by so quickly — you’ll wonder what happened! And you’ll want to go back for more. It’s addicting.
