Why Today Rocks
Yesterday, I had the worst migraine I’ve ever experienced. I tried to make it through the day at work. Bad idea. I ended up canceling my PiYo Strength class.
Here’s the real deal: I’m spent. My migraine was most definitely triggered by stress and lack of downtime. Last month, I taught 40 fitness classes. I’ve worked every Saturday, and plugged many late nights working towards our class goals for admission (by day I’m a counselor).
I’ve been running myself into the ground, trying to offer as many fitness opportunities as possible while diving head-first into our busiest communication season in the office, and trying to start marathon training.
I’m going to start putting me first. If I’m in my best physical condition I’m in a better state to help others achieve their goals. My personal goals this year include training for a marathon and acquiring a new fitness certification. I’m on the path toward both. But I know I need to slow down the fitness classes soon.
That brings me back to today. I went for a delicious 5-mile run with my running buddy early this morning. Running is my favorite, it always makes me so happy. Running leaves me feeling incredible, like I could conquer anything. I need more running in my life.
I also made it to work earlier than planned and have already cranked out three communications pieces. I might actually give myself the day off tomorrow (other than teaching a fitness class).
I’ve made ‘spring break’ plans to conquer projects in each room of the house (students are on spring break next week, so I’m in the mood for spring cleaning).
Spring is so close. I’m excited to get outside and direct sow my greens on the homestead.
I have so much GREATNESS going on in my life right now. Things are looking up, up, up in all aspects of my personal and professional life. I’m making plans and building strategy to keep it that way, including putting myself first (and not feeling guilty for doing so).
Maybe it’s just the runner’s high from this morning, but I’m enjoying this positive trend and continued happy outlook!
